In Connecticut COVID-19 hospitalizations are down slightly. Governor Ned Lamont hopes it means that cases in the state’s hardest hit county might have peaked.
Lamont says hospitalizations numbers in Fairfield County, which borders New York, have flattened.
“The net increase in hospitalizations in Fairfield County, which was the most severely hit of our counties to date, hospitalizations was down by one. That means there’s one less occupied bed than there was a day ago.”
He says that’s hopeful.
“One day, does not a trend make. But it is a glimmer of hope that we are reaching a peak.”
Officials had predicted the peak in Fairfield County would be in a couple of weeks. In New Haven County it would be next month, and in eastern Connecticut in June.
