Harmony of Nature is an international science and music collaboration aiming to communicate natural phenomena to audiences through an emotional connection to music. The project includes pianist Hea Youn "Sophy" Chung, composer Maxwell Lu, and oceanographer Molly M. James.

Short Bios:
The essential aim of pianist Hea Youn “Sophy” Chung is to establish artistry in which the musicians involved grow together with the spirit of collaboration. She studied solo piano with Matti Raekallio and collaborative piano with Jonathan Feldman and Margo Garrett at The Juilliard School. Her recent projects have featured musicians from Sweden, South Korea, UK, and USA.

Maxwell Lu is an undergraduate composer and computer science major attending Columbia University and studying with composer Andrew Norman as a part of the Columbia-Juilliard Exchange. His honors include the BMI composer awards, the Arthur Friedman Prize, the American Prize, the National Youth Orchestra, and the ASCAP Morton Gould Award.

Molly M. James is a PhD student studying physical oceanography in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Connecticut. Her research focuses on the dynamics of tides in salt marshes by measuring water levels and currents and using computer models. She received her BA in physics from Vassar College.
