Deal Reached: New London State Pier To Become Offshore Wind Hub

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont announced Tuesday an agreement to redevelop the New London State Pier into a wind hub.

The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will release a report this year with recommendations for how offshore wind projects can avoid conflict with commercial fishing and navigation.

The Long Island Power Authority says its average customer would see their bills go up by about $1.50 per month to help pay for the South Fork Wind Farm. They say the low increase is due to less expensive wind technology.
