Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that public colleges and universities across New York will begin offering the COVID-19 vaccine, with the aim of vaccinating as many college students as possible before the end of the spring semester.

U.S. college students are the subjects of a new federally funded study that measures the effectiveness of Moderna’s vaccine in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Stony Brook University on Long Island is one college whose students will participate in the study.

The State University of New York is expanding its re-enrollment outreach program to every SUNY campus to increase the graduation rate of low-income students and people of color.

Connecticut residents 75 and over in phase 1B of the state’s vaccination program will start receiving COVID-19 shots on Monday.

Appointments can be made online or over the phone at 877-918-2224. The state vaccine program is experiencing delays due to high traffic volume on the website and phone lines.
