New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says parts of Long Island are now under “yellow zone” restrictions to curb the spread of coronavirus after the communties exceeded a 3% positivity rate.
Cuomo said the new restrictions are for Great Neck and Massapequa Park in Nassau County, and Hampton Bays and Riverhead in Suffolk County. They each have a 7-day positive COVID-19 test rate above 3% for 10 days.
“You have local control up to 3%. When 3% happens, the state takes over," Cuomo said.
