Advocates say 2021 will be the year Connecticut finally approves the legal recreational use of marijuana by adults. State lawmakers had argued legalization would go against federal law. Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill into law that further decriminalizes marijuana possession in New York State. The law ends criminal prosecution for possession of up to two ounces of cannabis. The action comes on a day when the governor also signed new gun control measures into law.
