Far Cry Primal, from Ubisoft, takes us back in time. Waaaaaay back! To 10,000 BCE, in fact. Composing the music created a unique challenge for Jason Graves, who assembled a Stone Age "shopping list" of bones, rocks, antlers and rattles to create a score that's as visceral as the game. I talked with Jason about how he unleashed his inner caveman.

The Videri String Quartet is a group of young Boston-based, conservatory-trained musicians who use their powers to perform imaginative arrangements of music for games. I talked with the members of the quartet, violinists Lizzie Jones and Michael Hustedde; violist and founder, Rosalie Samter; and cellist Jeremiah Barcus.

Beethoven was a confident, witty young man with his whole career ahead of him when he premiered his First Piano Concerto in Vienna.  It's on the season-opening concerts by the Stamford Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Eckart Preu at the Palace Theater Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th.  Listen in to Kate Remington's conversation with Eckart Preu.

Cellist Ron Thomas is the Artistic Director of the Chestnut Hill Concert series in Old Saybrook. The series begins Friday, Aug. 2, at the Kate Performing Arts Center, and the theme of this year's season is Romantic Masters and those they inspired. Kate Remington talked with Thomas about the turbulent lives these composers led, and how they influenced music that's being written even today.
