Connecticut regulators plan to investigate the state’s largest power company, Eversource, for rate hikes following its poor response to Tropical Storm Isaias. It’s the same rate hike they approved over the last few years.
New York lawmakers grilled power company representatives and regulators at a hearing on Thursday. They criticized PSEG Long Island over extended outages and communication breakdowns following Tropical Storm Isaias.
U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal said a small municipally-owned utility in southeastern Connecticut restored power to all its customers within a couple of days of Tropical Storm Isaias. That’s in contrast to the state’s largest utility Eversource that took more than a week to restore power.
