Candidates in New York’s first congressional district faced off this week in an online debate organized by the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons. And while this race is between Republican incumbent Lee Zeldin and Democrat challenger Nancy Goroff, President Donald Trump loomed above it.

Survey: Majority of Conn. Voters Plan to Go to Polls

A new survey from the Public Policy Polling has found that less than half of Connecticut voters are concerned that absentee ballots are not as secure as in-person voting, but more than 80% prefer to visit their polling precincts.

County leaders in New York say they are frustrated over delays by Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state Legislature to make major decisions about the state’s multi billion dollar budget gap. And they are asking for more cooperation in carrying out key functions during the COVID-19 pandemic, like testing and tracing.

Connecticut’s top election and law enforcement officials have pledged to enforce state and federal laws to prevent attempts at voter suppression. Their press conference comes after state Republicans sought to recruit an "army" of volunteers at the polls.
