Governor Andrew Cuomo has suspended indoor dining in New York City, but he did not announce major changes to the zone restrictions for communities in other parts of the state.


Some Republican lawmakers in Suffolk County criticized a quasi-public agency for handing out tax incentives during the pandemic to the developer of a new Amazon warehouse in Westhampton Beach.  The GOP lawmakers want over $2 million in tax breaks to be rescinded, as municipal governments across the country struggle.

State Pier Salt Business Gets Reprieve

The owner of a salt business in New London has been thrown a temporary lifeline from being evicted from State Pier at the end of December by the Connecticut Port Authority.

This week, as the coronavirus infection rate climbed higher in New York state, new micro cluster zones were announced in New York, and some existing ones were intensified. A business group is asking Governor Andrew Cuomo to stick to that approach of limited closures, saying they won’t survive a complete economic shutdown.
