Tri-State Restaurants, Bars, Casinos Close; Public Gatherings Restricted

Here’s the latest on the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak in the region:

The governors of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey have all agreed to limit public gatherings to 50 people, and to close all restaurants and bars except for food deliveries and takeaway.

Connecticut has worked out an agreement with the tribal nations to close Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.

New York now has at least nine deaths due to the coronavirus. Two of the deaths are in Suffolk County.

The number of confirmed cases in New York is up to at least 950, with at least 74 in Suffolk, 109 in Nassau, and 220 in Westchester County.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone is in self-quarantine after Deputy County Executive Peter Scully tested positive for the virus.

Connecticut has at least 41 cases of the coronavirus. The majority are in Fairfield County.
