Rep. DeLauro Seeks To Expand Family And Medical Leave

May 13, 2020

U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut wants more people to be eligible for paid sick days in the next COVID-19 relief package.

DeLauro says the last package left out over 100 million people.

“So what we’re going to try to do is address that in this next package by allowing people who are ill themselves, or who have a loved one who is ill, to be able to access family and medical leave”

DeLauro was speaking on a video conference hosted by New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker.

She says she wants to make sure health care workers are also entitled to paid sick days in the new legislation.
