The latest Hartford Courant-Sacred Heart University poll finds that Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont’s poll numbers are up by 4%, while his disapproval rating is down by 5%.
Still, only 28% of Connecticut voters viewed Lamont’s performance favorably, while 41% disapproved of the job he’s doing.
The poll also found that 47% of voters approved of Lamont’s plan for truck-only tolls on several Connecticut highways.
Lamont says the poll proves that voters are warming to his truck-only highway toll plan.
“I think a lot of people are beginning to come to the conclusion that we got to fix our roads and bridges, you’ve got to pay for it in an honest way. I think that’s reflected in the poll. It’s moving in our direction.”
Lamont wants lawmakers to vote on his toll plan in a special session before the end of the month.
The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3 points.
