Students from five New York colleges and universities participated in an online town hall about how their schools are handling the return to campus amid the pandemic.
They say for the most part they are supportive of the way their schools and students have handled an unusual start to the semester.
Enrica Lee is a student at Stony Brook University. She said students want more ways to provide feedback.
“They want opportunities, they want resources," Lee said. "They want to have their voice heard. So more opportunities where students feel like they’re being listened to and they somehow have some power, I think that’s really healthy and positive.”
They also shared suggestions for how community residents can handle situations when they see students not following the rules.
Other universities who participated included Rochester, Cornell, Niagara and Syracuse.
