Lamont: Trump COVID Diagnosis 'A Reminder Of How Cautious We've Got To Continue To Be'

Oct 2, 2020

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont said President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump’s positive COVID-19 tests are a reminder that pandemic is still raging. He also said his thoughts and prayers go out to the Trump family.

“I think the infection of the president and the first lady is just a reminder that we are not out of the woods," Lamont said. "It's a reminder of how cautious we’ve got to continue to be. It is a reminder that October and November are going to be important months. If we maintain the masks, maintain the caution, maintain the distancing, I think we will be able to do this safely."

Hope Hicks, President Trump’s close aide, also tested positive. She is a Greenwich, Connecticut native.

Lamont had served with her father Paul Hicks on the Greenwich Board of Selectmen.
