Subway will move up to 10% of its Milford, Connecticut, corporate staff to an office in Miami where the new CEO John Chidsey lives.
The company said in a statement that the majority of the workforce will remain at the Milford headquarters and the relocation allows Subway to better collaborate with the supplier of Subway restaurants based in Miami.
Subway laid off close to half of the employees from the Milford offices last year during the pandemic.
In 1965, former CEO Fred DeLuca founded Subway in Bridgeport and built it into one of Connecticut’s best-known brands.
