Data shows at least 11 veterans and seven staff became infected with COVID-19 last month after an outbreak at the Northport V.A. Medical Center on Long Island.

The outbreak was discovered on February 24 after two patients tested positive. Contact tracing was able to identify the other cases.

Three veterans were reported to have severe symptoms, but there have been no deaths.

Eligible veterans are still able to receive the vaccine at the center, either by appointment or during a walk-in pop-up.

The next pop-up is on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 pm while supplies last.
