The MTA will offer regular weekday service on Metro-North and the Long Island Rail Road, despite a dramatic drop in passengers.
Officials say the trains are there for nurses, doctors, child care workers, first responders, transit workers and essential staff in New York and Connecticut to get where they need to be.
MTA crews are working to clean and disinfect stations twice a day and rail cars on a daily basis.
Customers are urged to telecommute if possible and to use electronic ticketing to reduce hand-to-hand contact.
