Yeshiva University in New York City has been closed at least through this Friday after a 20-year-old student tested positive for COVID-19.
The student is the son of the 50-year-old coronavirus-stricken Westchester lawyer who is currently hospitalized in New York City.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed that the lawyer’s wife, daughter, and neighbor who drove the lawyer to the doctor have also tested positive for the virus, and all are quarantined at home.
Cuomo says we can’t let fear get the best of us.
"We're dealing with a coronavirus epidemic. We have a bigger problem, which is a fear pandemic. And the anxiety here is outpacing the reality of the situation."
Officials estimate about 1,000 people in Westchester County are self-quarantined. Eleven people in the state have tested positive for the virus.
