Connecticut State Police will investigate the death of a 31-year-old man while he was in the custody of Milford Police early Sunday.
Authorities identified the man as Justin Griffin, who on Saturday was arrested on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop.
Milford Police say the man showed signs of medical distress while he was being booked. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was returned to police custody on Saturday night.
Officers found the man unresponsive in his cell early Sunday morning. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
