Connecticut public officials say that hospitalizations for the flu have been on the rise over the past five weeks.

The Department of Public Health says there have been 1,015 people diagnosed with the flu...as of the first week in January.

More than 450 people have been hospitalized with confirmed cases since late August. 70 percent of them are ages 65 and older.

There have been 15 flu-related deaths in that age group.
