The advocacy group Sandy Hook Promise has released an app that allows users to anonymously report peoplewho may be at risk of committing violence, like school shootings.
The group released the below PSA for the app, which shows a teenage boy listing off the warning signs of a school shooter: being bullied, obsession with guns and threats on social media. Then the camera pulls out to reveal something unexpected.
Users can submit a tip to a crisis center hotline that can get in touch with law enforcement and school administration for interventions. Sandy Hook Promise is based in Newtown and was started after the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
