Imprisoned 17 years, Tankleff wins $3M settlement

A man who spent 17 years wrongfully imprisoned for murdering his own parents has won a $3.3 million dollar settlement against the State of New York.  This is the first of two lawsuits filed by Martin Tankleff.  

Charles is senior reporter focusing on special projects. He has won numerous awards including an IRE award, three SPJ Public Service Awards, and a National Murrow. He was also a finalist for the Livingston Award for Young Journalists and Third Coast Director’s Choice Award.
