Join us for a virtual conversation on balancing recreational use and resource protection in New York State Forest Preserves. This event will feature experts from the Catskill Center, the Catskill Science Collaborative, and Adirondack Mountain Club.
Visitation to the Catskill and Adirondack Parks has hit an all-time high. More people connecting with nature in New York State’s Forest Preserves is a good thing. But trail erosion, bear encounters, litter, traffic, safety, and damage to popular sites are just some of the stresses in managing resources for all. How can we help people get the most out of their time in Forest Preserves while doing the least harm?
This event is free and open to all. Have a question you’d like to see addressed? The event will include ample time for audience Q&A. You can also share concerns and ideas when you register. Zoom login info will be sent with Eventbrite registration confirmation.
