As American jazz traveled from this country to Europe and eventually to the Soviet Union, it lost some of its original character as we'll hear tonight with the Jazz Suite No. 1 by Shostakovich. Tune in at 8 p.m. on 91.1 and 107.5 FM and our music stream.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Kate Remington joined WSHU in December of 2000, and she's been WSHU's Music Director since 2002.
