Planned Giving
Individual, annual giving is the foundation of support for WSHU Public Radio and we are grateful for the generosity and commitment of our listeners. Those contributions are integral to our success as a non-commercial, public radio station.
However, there are other ways to support WSHU that will have a significant, lasting impact on the quality NPR News and classical music programming you enjoy. Remembering us in your estate planning is a profound act of generosity that can further your interests and values and provide an enduring legacy for the benefit of our entire community.
If the NPR News, classical music, and rich variety of cultural programs that we broadcast have been an integral part of your daily life, please consider the many different planned giving possibilities. Many of these options would not only benefit WSHU, but could reduce your future taxes or even provide you with an income for life.
For many people who consider it, planned philanthropy means including us in their will or trust. However, there is a whole array of additional options beyond straightforward bequests, including:
- Gifts of Appreciated Stock
- Charitable Annuity Trusts
- Charitable Remainder Trusts
- Restricted Foundation Annuities
Some of these options are new, or the laws governing them have been modified. As with any investment strategy, we suggest that you consult your financial advisor or estate planner for detailed explanations and recommendations. For more information on how planned giving can benefit WSHU, please contact Gillian Anderson or Gary Brandt.
