I was joined for the first hour by mountain dulcimer wizard Butch Ross, who will be spreading the sounds of his exceptional solo dulcimer artistry in workshops and concert this weekend at the 2011 Nutmeg Dulcimer Festival in Milford’s Mary Taylor United Methodist Church on the Green.

Our old friends Caravan of Thieves returned to Profiles for the concluding 45 minutes of the show, fresh off the road from touring in the Southeast. They have upcoming shows at Danbury’s Palace Theater and the Fairfield Theatre Company and their special Halloween spectacular, which this year will be at Northampton’s venerable Iron House Music Hall in Massachusetts. And they brought a special treat: A copy of their third album, aptly named “The Fun House”, which won’t be released until in 2012 on UFO Records.

Amazingly, with all the night's hubbub and performer changes in the studio, WSHU Chief Engineer Paul Litwinovich didn't miss a beat. Our thanks for his engineering prowess still once again.
