This show offers a big “thank you” to all the listeners of Profiles who made pledges during last week’s fund-raising drive, in past drives or who are subscribing members of WSHU-/WSUF. It’s your support that continues to allow folk and acoustic music to have a place at the table of these NPR stations.
The show is a mix of old and new. Pete Seeger, year after year, is our most requested performer. Among Friends, a fine new “discovery,” also added an appropriate name to this show. The Scottish band Rise will be joining us Live In Studio A next Friday. Canadian Eileen McGann, a former in-studio guest several times, will be making two appearances in Connecticut later this month. Kate Campbell, one of my personal favorites, has a new CD out.
