A special program devoted entirely to Doc Watson, one of American folk music's true national treasures. The program is culled from a marvelous 3-CD set entitled "Legacy" recently issued by High Windy Audio. The package is an outgrowth of a remarkable musical collaboration and deep friendship that has developed over two decades between Doc and noted musician and storyteller David Holt. The concept for this set progressed from a television concert they were asked to do in 1998 for North Carolina Public Television, which found great popularity. They then took their discussion and music show, called "The Hills Of Home Tour," on the road to audiences intrigued about learning more about Doc's singular and inspiring life. The 3-CD set is a separate recording of interviews with Doc that grew out of the friendship and the shows and a live concert recording.
